Sidhu's three sixes take it away inside seventeen overs

We batted first over twenty-five and spent most of the innings looking for a way through Saurabh Bedi. He bowled his four straight, gave up 18 and took three of them, and every time we looked like getting going he was back at the top of his mark. Maninder Singh top-scored with 30 from 35. Sukhjit Singh was the one man who took him on, 21 from 12 with two sixes, and for those few overs it felt like a different game. Then he was stumped and it settled back down. Darshpreet Singh Sidhu came out and hit three sixes on his way to 59 from 40 before he retired hurt, by which point the chase was already gone, and Saurabh Bedi followed him with 30 from 22 and then went off as well. Amit Malhotra's 2 for 16 was the best of our bowling and Subodh Mahajan got the other one, but three wickets in sixteen overs is not a contest. 137 for 3, seven wickets, and Bedi took player of the match for the four overs that decided it.
