Amit Kumar's four for nine set up a nine-wicket win over BCA Yellow

The Warriors finally roar!

Sometimes, a cricket team doesn't need a close finish. Sometimes, after fighting through one hearbreak after another, a team simply needs a game where everything just comes together. For BWCC, this was that game!

They won the toss and chose to field against BCA Brossard Yellow, putting the responsibility on their bowlers to set the tone... and set the tone they did!

The BCA-Yellow innings started with trouble almost immediately. Rajesh Sharma was gone in the first over, Jagdeep Chuttani followed, then Nilesh Kavathe and then Ninad Vartak. Four wickets down, 30 runs on the board and the BCA-Y were in trouble. Most runs were coming from wides and No balls! Out of the 30 runs at the end of over 5, 13 were from extras, but the wickets kept coming.

BCA captain Aman Sharma tried to steady things, but the Warriors bowling attack was relentless. Vinay Kumar took 3 for 27 while Amit Kumar produced perhaps the spell of the tournament for BWCC, ripping through the middle order with four wickets for just nice runs. He was almost impossible to score against. Three overs, nine runs, four wickets, let that sink in. The pressure never left BCA.

There was some resistance from Dipesh V, who fought his way to 21 from 21 balls and Ishu contributed to 16, but the Warriors kept taking wickets at exactly the moments BCA needed partnerships. And hey, catches were held! Rohit Sharma took amazing three catches on the boundary, Maninder Singh took a one hander while running across from deep mid-wicket towards deep square leg, Subodh, Hemanth (2 catches) and Mohit Bhardwaj (2 catches) held on when they were presented with the opportunities.

Thirty extras though! BCA ended up giving themself some breathing room and by the 19.2-over mark, the final wicket had fallen, all out for 106.

For BWCC, it was the kind of bowling performance they had been waiting for and now came the chase. What happened next was brutal! Maninder Singh and Lakshma Reddy walked out together, there was no panic, no attempt to overcomplicate the chase, just clean aggressive T20 style cricket. Lakshma was magnificent. He found the boundary repeatedly, striking six fours and a six on way to a blistering 50 from 34 balls. At the other end, captain Maninder Singh played the perfect partner. He didn't need to dominate, he simply kept the scoreboard moving, finding his own boundaries and punishing anything loose. He finished unbeated on 44 from 37 balls with two fours and two sixes. Together, they turned what could have been a chase into a procession, putting on 106 partnership for the first wicket. The winning run came off a wide, with Rohit Sharma still to face a ball at the non-striker's end. The Warriors reached 107 for 1 in just 11.3 overs, winning by 9 wickets and 51 balls still remaining. It was emphatic. It was clinical. And it was a statement.

This was a crucial match for BWCC, they needed to chase the target within 16 overs to make the finals on NRR basis. BWCC team B did an excellent job at keeping the NRRs low in the two matches they played and team A needed to capitalize by scoring quickly.

A dominant bowling performance followed by a devastating chase. Amit Kumar destroyed the top and middle order. Lakshma and Manny destroed the bowling and calmly finished the job.

The Warriors didn't just win this one, they roared!
